Anguilla Entry Requirements

Subject to change at any time without notice. Visit the Anguilla Tourist Board for updates.

1) All visitors 18 years and older must be fully-vaccinated — defined as having received your final dose of an accepted, primary, COVID-19 vaccine more than 14 days prior to arrival.

Mixed vaccines are accepted for most vaccine types. Unvaccinated visitors under 18 years old are permitted to enter Anguilla with a vaccinated adult.

2) All visitors require a valid, negative COVID-19 test taken pre-travel. Test must be a PCR or NAA test taken within 3 days of arrival OR a Rapid Antigen test taken no more than 2 days before arrival.

Your test date is considered Day 0. The laboratory that processes the pre-arrival test must be accredited and test result must clearly specify the name of the laboratory/clinic, your full name, type of test administered, sample collection date and must specifically indicate that the test was taken by nasopharyngeal swab.

Self-administered/home testing kits (including video proctored) and antibody tests are NOT accepted.

Exception: Visitors 5 years of age and under are not required to present a valid, negative COVID-19 test taken pre-travel before boarding, but if one is not presented, that visitor will be tested at arrival in Anguilla and have to wait for a negative result to be confirmed.

3) All visitors 18 years and over must present evidence of full vaccination status and all visitors must present their valid, negative COVID-19 test result before boarding their aircraft or boat/ferry/sea shuttle and on arrival in Anguilla.

Please confirm procedures with your specific airline, as some require passengers to upload this information in advance to the airline’s or third party’s app.

TESTING ON ARRIVAL

Testing on arrival has been discontinued for all persons traveling to Anguilla, except for persons who arrive without an accepted pre-arrival test regardless of age. Such persons will be subject to PCR testing on arrival and must remain in place at their hotel or villa until the results are known, in addition to paying a fine. Children 5 and under: although not required to present a pre-travel negative result to board, if a test is not provided, children in this age group will be tested on arrival in Anguilla.

MEDICAL EXCEPTION REQUESTS

If an unvaccinated person 18 years or older wishes to request a medical exemption permitting entry into Anguilla, they should apply for the exemption in writing at [email protected] under the subject heading “Request for COVID-19 Vaccination Exemption”. An unvaccinated visitor who is granted a medical exemption permitting entry shall be required to quarantine for a period of not less than 5 days, or other such period specified by the Quarantine Authority.

If You are Traveling to Anguilla Through St. Maarten

As a separate country, St. Maarten has its own set of entry requirements which are different than Anguilla. Visit: https://stmaartenehas.com/application-form/. You can start your application process to St. Maarten as early as 3 days before you arrive in St. Maarten.  If you are not overnighting in St. Maarten then you will indicate 0 nights in St. Maarten, arriving in St. Maarten from your previous destination and departing St. Maarten for Anguilla the same day you arrive. If you are traveling through St. Maarten after your stay in Anguilla, you will need to apply for entry to St. Maarten again (as early as 3 days before you arrive in St. Maarten). This time you will indicate you are arriving in St. Maarten from Anguilla and departing from St. Maarten for your next destination the same day you arrive.

As an alternative to traveling through St. Maarten, there are direct flights to and from Anguilla’s airport (AXA) from Miami, St. Thomas, St. Barth’s, Antigua and Puerto Rico. Private planes of certain sizes are also welcome in Anguilla.

If Test Positive at Arrival or During Stay

Should a Guest receive a positive test result or exhibit other signs of the COVID-19 virus, typically the Guest will be retested the following day to rule out a false positive. Subject to test result, the Ministry of Health will determine if Guest should be escalated to a medical facility, otherwise the Guest will stay-in place and isolate in their villa until cleared by the MOH. Should Guests be required to extend their stay at the villa beyond original check out date as a result of receiving consecutive positive test results, Guests will be responsible for paying the published nightly rate + government tax at time of stay and 10% service charge for all additional nights. If stay in current property cannot be extended due to another booking, our staff will work with the Guests to move them to another villa or alternative accommodations. All properties are deep-cleaned and thoroughly disinfected before the next guest arrives. Although no housekeeping services can be provided during the isolation period, all necessary food and beverage, cleaning and medical supplies can be arranged and delivered contactless to the Guest (additional charge). Trip insurance that includes trip interruption/delay and medical coverage for COVID-19 related expenses is always recommended. You may be able to purchase through your airline.

Onward Testing Available

If you need an onward test for your next (for example St. Maarten) or final destination, we can arrange for an additional fee. Please let us know your travel schedule and requirements before your stay so we can schedule accordingly.
